Nathalie Nestor, Managing Principal, has nearly 20 years of experience in energy, sustainability, and project management for some of the largest local and state governments in the United States, as well as private companies. She has a proven ability to develop, design, and implement innovative techniques to reach target groups and support business goals.

Many of her most recent projects are in conjunction with Los Angeles County’s Office of Sustainability, which she was hired to help initiate. Since the establishment of the County’s Office of Sustainability, she has applied for grants totaling over $100 million and worked towards certifying Los Angeles County’s first LEED building. During Nathalie’s tenor at the County, she was part of a team who designed, implemented and administered several statewide energy efficiency programs including Energy Upgrade California, Home Upgrade, Go Green Financing and the CHEEF. Prior to that, she was the Director of Sustainability at a retail design-build firm in Southern California.

Known for her ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders to reach consensus and implement solutions, Nathalie is well-known throughout the industry. She is an avid speaker and subject matter expert in energy project financing. She has earned a reputation for leading complex projects, building consensus and being tenacious about getting results from clients. This is done through a systematic approach to leadership, strategy, innovation and client development. Her successful track record demonstrates her unique ability to analyze numerous disparate amounts of information and design a solution that is elegant, efficient and good for the environment, while still accomplishing organizational goals.

 

Nathalie’s credentials include a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Washington, architectural licenses in multiple states, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and LEED Accredited Professional certification. Committed to continuous learning, Nathalie augments her post-graduate work with executive education classes at Stanford University. She has been involved in the US Green Building Counsel since 2001 and was the founder and co-chair for the Los Angeles chapter’s South Bay branch.

Nathalie became a licensed architect in Arizona and California extending her work into the sustainability realm by becoming a LEED Accredited Professional.

2000-2008
2008-2012

Nathalie holds numerous positions as a Project Architect and Planner including for an exclusive company owned by former interns of Frank Lloyd Wright. In 2007, she became Director of Sustainability for Palladeo, a commercial design-build company in California.

Consulting work in the energy sector blossoms as Nathalie begins work with LA County to build and launch their Office of Sustainability. During this time, Nathalie also facilitates the creation of the LA County Property Assessed Clean Energy Financing (PACE) Program, the Home Upgrade Incentive Program, and The Southern California Regional Energy Network.

Nathalie officially launches Design-Manage-Sustain allowing her to focus full-time on her mission.

Nathalie successfully serves over 50 clients through direct and sub-contracting agreements.
